MATTHEW 7:24-29 STORY & PUPPET SKIT

(Instructions: Children act out in their own personal space what they can.)

Narrator # 1: Jesus says that it is very, very important . . .

Narrator # 2: Kids - how important?

ALL: Very, very important.

Narrator # 1: Very, very important to follow His instructions which are found in the Bible and build our lives on Him. Jesus says if we do not follow His instructions, we are very, very foolish.

Narrator # 2: Kids - how foolish?

ALL: Very, very foolish.

Narrator # 1: Very, very foolish like a man who builds a house on sand.

Narrator # 2: Kids - he built his house on what?

ALL: Sand

Narrator # 1: He hammered and hammered and hammered and hammered until his house was all built. Then rains came. It rained and rained and rained and rained. The rain turned into a storm and the wind blew and blew and blew and blew. There were claps of thunder and more claps of thunders and more claps of thunder. The winds blew and blew and blew and blew. It rained and rained and rained and rained. The water got higher and higher and higher on the ground. The wind keep beating on the house and beating on the house. Finally, the house fell to the ground with a mighty crash.

PUPPET PRESENTATION

Puppet # 1 -- Jesus says that is very, very important

Puppet # 2 -- How important did you say?

Puppet # 1 -- Very, very important

Puppet # 2 -- Very, very important for what?

Puppet # 1 -- I am trying to tell you! Very, very important that we follow His instructions which are in the Bible and build our lives on Him. Jesus says if we do not follow His instructions which are in the Bible, we are very, very foolish.

Puppet # 2 -- How foolish?

Puppet # 1 -- VERY, VERY!

Puppet # 2 -- Very, very WHAT?

Puppet # 1 -- I am TRYING to tell you! Very, very foolish like a man who built his house on sand.

Puppet # 2 -- SAND?

Puppet # 1 -- Yes, sand!

Puppet # 2 -- SAND! That IS foolish!

Puppet # 1 -- It started raining. And it rained and rained and rained.

Puppet # 2 -- And rained and rained and rained.

Puppet # 1 -- And the winds started blowing and blowing

Puppet # 2 -- And blowing and blowing.

Puppet # 1 -- And beating on that house which was built...

Puppet # 2 -- On SAND!

Puppet # 1 -- And soon because of all the rain, it started to flood. And the water got higher and higher.

Puppet # 2 -- Oh, no!

Puppet # 1 -- And do you know what happened?

Puppet # 2 -- No!

Puppet # 1 -- That house which was built on...

Puppet # 2 -- SAND!

Puppet # 1 -- That house which was built on sand crumbled to the ground with a mighty crash.
